Social Studies

ssThe main goals of the social studies curriculum include preparing students for their civic responsibilities, learning to make good decisions, analyzing past and current events, and learning to appreciate the variety of people in the world.

Students are urged to take electives beyond the required courses.  They are encouraged to talk to teachers in the department or to a counselor if they have any questions about a course or would like help in selecting a sequence of social studies courses.

Enrollment in all social studies electives requires the signature of a social studies department member.
