Dear Oyster River Community,

We are writing to share an important leadership update regarding Oyster River High School.

High School Principal Becka Noe has informed the district of her decision to leave Oyster River to serve as principal of the Auburn Village School. On behalf of the Oyster River Cooperative School District, we want to thank Becka for her service to our students, staff, and families. Throughout her tenure, she has demonstrated a commitment to supporting student growth, further developing the Vision of a Graduate, and expanding opportunities for learning. We wish her the very best in her future endeavors.

As we look ahead to the 2026–27 school year, our priority is to ensure continuity, stability, and strong leadership for our students and staff. After careful consideration, the district will immediately begin a search for an Interim Principal to serve at Oyster River High School during the 2026–27 school year.

Appointing an interim principal will allow us to maintain a steady and successful opening to the school year while providing the time necessary to conduct a thoughtful, comprehensive, and inclusive search process for a permanent principal. During the fall, we will engage stakeholders in helping to identify the leadership qualities, experiences, and priorities most important for the next principal of Oyster River High School. Input gathered through this process will help shape the position profile and guide the selection process over the course of the coming months.

Leadership transitions are significant moments for any school community. They also provide an opportunity to reflect on our strengths, reaffirm our values, and ensure that our leadership continues to support the high expectations and aspirations we hold for all students. We are confident that, together, we will navigate this transition successfully and continue the important work of preparing students for bright and meaningful futures.

Thank you for your continued support of Oyster River High School and the Oyster River Cooperative School District. We remain committed to providing a safe, engaging, and academically challenging learning environment where every student can thrive.

Sincerely,

Robert Shaps Suzanne Filippone
