Giant Traveling Map of NH Visits Mast Way

This week, all 4th grade students enjoyed investigating a Giant Traveling New Hampshire Floor Map (16ft. x 20ft) which was borrowed from the NH Historical Society. Throughout their 4th grade year, students learn about New Hampshire’s geography, government, indigenous people and early colonial life.  By using the giant map, students got hands-on and feet-on experience in spatial thinking and awareness, using grid systems to find absolute location, using map scales to calculate distance, and recognizing the head waters and mouths of many NH rivers.
