MW Welcomes New Free Little Library

Mast Way School would like to thank community member Jack Maguire for building a free little library. The initiative was a community service project to meet his graduation requirements as a senior at Coe-Brown Northwood Academy.

Jack reached out to Principal Lowe last summer to discuss a potential opportunity to collaborate on a community service project. They quickly agreed that combining his interest in woodworking with Ms. Lowe's passion for building community and expanding access to free books made building a free little library an excellent idea.

This new little library, which was installed for the school’s annual open house on October 9, is similar to those found in other local communities and was built with thoughtful details.

Mast Way School's logo and nautical history were included in the design, and as you walk past, you'll notice the beautiful bird and bee house on each side.

Jack worked on the project with his grandfather. The library’s door includes a piece of stained glass from his grandmother’s home, honoring a beloved family member who loved to read.
