This is my ninth-year teaching 4th grade and I can’t wait to collaborate with you and embark upon our learning journey together! I graduated from Granite State College with a M.S. in Leadership and Instruction and am certified as a K-8 elementary and K-12 special educator. Outside of school, I enjoy not only spending time with my family and friends, but engaging in some fun hobbies too such as gardening, repurposing furniture, and working on home projects. I also especially love hiking, exploring the woods, and enjoying campfires with Mr. Ahlberg and our dog, Dweezil.

I completed my student teaching internship in a 2nd grade classroom and received my master’s degree in Elementary Education from UNH this spring. Previously, I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Studies. During my undergraduate years, I worked as a teaching assistant at the UNH Child Study and Development Center. I had an incredible experience and built many foundational skills and understandings there. I have been with my partner for nearly 6 years. We love hiking, biking, bouldering, and listening to music together. Previously, we were both members of an English handbell choir. When I’m in need of relaxation, I turn to books, puzzles, and video games. I couldn’t be happier to return to 2nd grade this year and look forward to meeting you!

For both my undergraduate and graduate degrees I attended the University of New Hampshire, graduating with a Bachelors in Educational Studies & Psychology and a Masters in Elementary Education. Although I now live in Dover, I grew up in Bow, NH with my parents, my sister Lauren (an elementary music teacher), and all of our pets! I come from a family of animal lovers and grew up with 2 dogs and 5 cats for a majority of my life. Outside of school I love to dance! I am a tap dance and aerial instructor at Sole City Dance in Somersworth and the co-founder of Passion Dance Project, a dance company for advanced adult dancers on the seacoast. I can’t wait for an amazing year ahead! Feel free to reach out with any questions or just to introduce yourself!

I grew up in Sanford Maine where I started my teaching career as a second grade teacher. I graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington. I love to cook, and go antique shopping. I collect jadeite, so antique stores and thrift shops are where I go to add to my collection! I also love to sing! I’ve grown up singing the national anthem at Sanford’s local baseball park where the Mainers team plays. You will likely end up hearing me singing along to music in my classroom whenever the students are out and about! I am excited to start my journey as a third grade teacher here at Mast Way!

The 2024-25 school year will be my 32nd year in education, and I am more excited than ever to connect with my new students. and to be joining the Mast Way community as one of the new 4th grade teachers. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education, as well as a M.Ed. I am certified in both elementary and special education. My teaching career began in 1992 in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire, and in 1997 we moved to the NH seacoast where I joined the Oyster River Middle School family. Over the course of my career, I taught in a variety of settings and configurations. I was a special education teacher for 7th and 8th graders, and a 5th and 6th grade classroom teacher. I taught all subjects within a single classroom and specialized in teaching math, science, social studies, and language arts while teaching on a variety of two and three person teaching teams. I love spending time outdoors! This summer I have been working in my garden and enjoying morning walks at Wagon Hill with my dog, Scout. I also enjoy paddleboarding, kayaking, going to the beach, camping, reading, cooking, doing crafty stuff and traveling to new places with my husband and two teenage sons. During hockey season you'll find me routing for the Boston BRUINS!

I previously taught in Merrimack, NH the past three years as a special education teacher and case manager. Recently, I graduated with my Master’s Degree in Curriculum Instruction and Educational Leadership from Southern New Hampshire University, where I also graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in both Elementary and Special Education in 2021. I value being able to work with students and families from all backgrounds and am looking forward to continuing to foster positive relationships in my role at Mast Way. Outside of work, I live with my boyfriend and our adorable black lab, Lucy. I am from Manchester, NH where I lived for the 25 years and enjoy spending time with my family and friends, cooking new recipes, and exploring local shops and areas.
Blond Woman named Stephanie Allen with bio that reads : As the newest member of the first grade team here at Mast Way School, I look forward to jumping into my ninth year of teaching first grade. I can’t wait to spend my days juggling letter sounds, band aides, songs, social skills, hugs, and math concepts to last a lifetime. . . just to name a few! I am amazed at how much first graders teach me about life every day and feel absolutely honored to be their teacher! I studied Fine Arts at Green Mountain College for my undergrad where my love of theatre and costume design led me to work in the fashion industry as a merchandiser. Having always had the drive to become a teacher, I went on to complete my Masters in Elementary Education and have worked in both regular and special education in preschool through fifth grade. I grew up in Providence, RI and have lived throughout the Northeast as an adult before settling in New Hampshire to start a family. We moved to town in 2020 and love our friend-Lee community! When I’m not at school, you’ll find me working on a house project with my husband, Ryan, gardening, paddleboarding, and spending time with my two beautiful children, Caroline (17) and Nathan (14).

Working Together to Engage Every Learner

The Oyster River Cooperative School District serves the contiguous town communities of Durham, Lee, and Madbury, located 50 miles north of Boston in the southeast corner of New Hampshire. The district is 12 miles west of Portsmouth and the Atlantic Ocean beaches, and 40 miles southeast of the White Mountains, offering four-season recreational activities and immediate proximity to the state’s Lakes Region. The University of New Hampshire (UNH) is located in Durham. As a result of its geographical location, the district and its students have easy access to many cultural and educational opportunities.
