Two Oyster River Middle School (ORMS) teams proudly represented the Oyster River Cooperative School District (ORCSD) at the 2025 VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas. Teams 2820A and 2820Y competed in the middle school division on May 12-14, 2025.

Team 2820A,” Flying Cockroaches”, earned the prestigious Design Award, placing them among the top six teams in the world for excellence in the engineering design process. This award honors teams exhibiting an organized and professional approach, strong project and time management, and effective team organization.

Part of the selection process for the award involves an analysis of the team's engineering notebook and a team interview, which must both reflect a student-driven, iterative design process from concept to execution.

Team 2820Y, “Kinetic Kaos”, played energetically and placed 44th in their division, competing alongside teams from Canada, China, Ecuador, Ireland, Mexico, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia, the U.K., the U.S.A., and Vietnam.

ORMS Robotics Club coach Ms. Jade Terrill said, “Students of both teams represented our school with skill, dedication, and professionalism. We're incredibly proud of their hard work and achievements both during this season and at the world championship!”

We would like to congratulate the following students on their exemplary performance during the season and at the championship.
