ORCSD is proud to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of 13 Oyster River High School (ORHS) students who were selected to participate in the 2026 All‑State Music Festival, held April 16–18, 2026.
Nearly 1,000 students from across the state auditioned earlier this year at Memorial High School in Manchester. From that highly competitive field, an impressive group of 13 ORHS students earned All‑State honors. Six students were accepted into the orchestra for strings, four students were selected for the choir, and three students in band.
Among these exceptional achievements, ORHS senior Geneva Ruml earned the top alto saxophone score in the state for the second year in a row.
“One of my favorite parts of the whole All-State experience, from auditions to the festival, is being surrounded by other students who are also passionate about music,” said Ruml. “At auditions, I love hearing everybody warming up, playing together, and supporting each other. At the festival and in the performance, everyone is focused and dedicated to making beautiful art together, which is such a wonderful and fun thing to get to be a part of.”
During the April festival, orchestra students traveled to Concord, where they rehearsed alongside fellow musicians from across New Hampshire under the direction of renowned conductors. The experience culminated in public performances showcasing the hard work, collaboration, and musical excellence of the young artists.
Earlier this school year, four ORHS students were also selected to perform in the 2026 NHMEA Jazz All-State Festival.
Congratulations to all of our All‑State musicians for representing Oyster River with such distinction!
