2026-2027 schedule:

Science Club is an opportunity for 5th grade students to explore the world of science through interactive labs, projects, and demonstrations. 8th grade mentors assist 5th grade students. Science Club is held in the 8th grade science room #444 from 3:00 p.m. - 4:05 p.m.   

The number of interested students will determine how many sessions each child will attend. For safety reasons, each group will be limited to 18 students. The first meeting will be Monday, September 28th. Interested students just need to show up to the first meeting and more information will be provided at that time.

2026-2027 Schedule:

The 6th Grade SWE (Society of Women Engineers) Outreach Club meets most Tuesdays after school in Ms. Bissell’s room (344) from 3:00 - 4:15 p.m. (in time to catch the late bus).

Female UNH engineering students help serve as mentors alongside the 6th graders to use science-related concepts to complete various engineering challenges.

Students can join anytime throughout the school year. If interested, please contact Ms. Bissell. The first meeting will be Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

The ORMS Baking Club is excited to kick off another sweet year! No need to bring anything—we’ve got all the equipment and ingredients! Just bring your enthusiasm and love for baking.

The Baking Club's goal is to meet several times a year. In November, for this year's first baking club, students baked pumpkin oat chocolate muffins!

How to Join

Participation is limited to the first 20 students who sign up for each session using a Microsoft Form.

• The sign-up link will be posted on the Club Page on the ORMS website.
• Students will also hear about it via Morning Announcements.

Note: You cannot sign up for the entire year—registration is session-by-session.

Fiber Arts Club will launch in winter 2027. 

Want to learn how to knit or crochet? Already know and want to join friends and work on a project? Fiber Arts Club might just be the perfect activity for you! All students in grades 5–8 are invited, as well as staff members.

2026-2027 schedule:

The middle school French Club welcomes all ORMS students who are interested in learning about the French-speaking world. We will be meeting once a month after school on Mondays until 4:10, or late bus, in the French classroom, room 203. Each meeting will have a theme based on different French-speaking cultures. We will listen to music, play games, and/or do activities, and share a snack that is connected to each theme. 

Our first meeting will be on Monday, September 21, 2026.  Future dates will be shared at that meeting and in Student Announcements. For additional information, please contact Madame Pennelli.

2025-2026 Schedule:

Futsal Club is an after school club that plays pick-up soccer on Mondays from 3:05 - 4:00 p.m.

The club is open to ORMS students of all grade levels and of all soccer abilities. We play small-sided games and prioritize being a good teammate and having fun. Winning and goal scoring are secondary.

This club provides a space for getting exercise and touches on the ball while encouraging and supporting teammates.

The club runs in the late fall depending on field availability and weather. It also runs in the spring depending on gymnasium availability. Morning announcements will inform students about club happenings.

We will be watching the Harry Potter movies and making Harry Potter themed crafts. We will be doing many of the activities that we did last year.

2026-2027 schedule:

ORMS Jazz Band meets Thursdays after school until 4:30 p.m. and runs for the entire year. The group focuses on the performance and study of swing-based jazz music. The group is composed of traditional jazz band instruments: saxophones, brass, and rhythm section. 

2025-2026 schedule:

MATHCOUNTS meets on Thursdays. MATHCOUNTS is a challenging national middle school mathematics program and competition that builds problem-solving skills.

Students are invited to join Ms. Kate in the library after school for Library Hour, a welcoming space for independent reading, homework completion, and academic support. Participants can also check out books and take part in crafts and activities set up in the library. 

Library Hour runs Monday through Thursday until 4:10 p.m. (late bus).

2026-2027 schedule:

The Outing Club hosts various activities in collaboration with local organizations throughout the school year! Our goal is to get students outside and explore the local area. Every trip is geared to any ORMS student, and no experience is needed. We aim to go on adventures once a month. Buses are provided to get students there, but sometimes parent pick up is required from the site.

Some trips do come with a financial cost. Details will be posted here and shared through Mr. Sullivan's weekly parent newsletter. Please reach out if you need assistance. 

Permission slips and waivers will be made available on this webpage below or can be picked up in the front office.

Spots are limited and will be reserved only when the signed waiver, permission slip and payment are turned in to Ms. Bissell or Ms. Dinger. Checks can be made to ORMS.

• March- Wilderness Survival Skills (Seven Rivers at the Browne Center).
• April- Orienteering (Seven Rivers at the Browne Center).
• May- Aerial Adventure at Take Flight in York, ME.
• June- Kayaking and or Paddleboarding on Great Bay with Seven Rivers.

2025-2026 schedule

The Save the Sea Turtles Club focuses on learning about the different types of turtles and the environment they live in. We learn through art projects, talking with scientists in the field and school grounds, and hopefully some beach cleanups.  We are hoping to raise money to donate to local response, rescue and rehabilitation organizations. Save the Sea Turtles Club meets every other Thursday.

2025-2026 schedule

Spanish club is open to all ORMS students who are interested in learning more about the Spanish-speaking world. During the club, we immerse ourselves in the diverse cultures of Latin American and Spain as we listen to popular music, play classic games, try common snacks, and discuss different traditions.  

The club meets 1-2 times a month, generally on Mondays, from 3:05-4:00pm. Morning announcements will inform students about club happenings.

2026-2027 schedule:

The Sustainability Club will be meeting on Thursdays from 3:05 - 4:00 p.m. in room 307 throughout the year. Anyone is welcome to join without signing up. You can join at any point throughout the year. 

We will be working on sustainability at ORMS through various projects, including planning Earth Week, composting, and more!

2025-2026 schedule:

The first club meeting will be on Monday, November 3. We will meet again on Monday, November 10. Tuesday meetings will begin on Tuesday, November 18, and for as long as weather allows. We hope to pick back up in April, that date is still TBD. 

Any level of experience is welcome to join. All you need is a pair of sneakers to run around in. We will end in time for students to take the late bus home.

2025-2026 schedule:

This club is offered to students in grades 6, 7, and 8. VEX IQ Robotics meets 2-3 times per week starting in late September. Competitive events take place on weekends. The end of the season can range from late January to early May depending on a team’s accomplishments.
