On June 2, 2025, Oyster River High School (ORHS) hosted the 15th edition of its annual Science Showcase.
For the past 11 years, ORHS educators Jon Bromley (Environmental Science) and Celeste Best (Anatomy and Physiology) have engaged their students in authentic scientific inquiry at the end of their year-long courses.
In recent years, students from AP Biology, Biotechnology, and Extended Learning Opportunities have also conducted independent scientific research.
This scientific inquiry work of students culminates in the annual Science Showcase, where students present and defend their findings in a Science Symposium event.
Modeled after college-level poster presentations where researchers are required to present and defend their findings, the Science Showcase is an opportunity for ORHS science students to share their inquiry-based research in an engaging way.
The Science Showcase is presented annually in June.
