ORHS Students Recognized with Statewide Scholar-Athlete Awards

DURHAM – Principal Rebecca Noe and Athletic Director Andrew Lathrop are pleased to announce that 22 Oyster River High School students have been recognized as scholar-athletes by statewide associations.

The annual awards were presented by the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association and New Hampshire Athletic Directors Association on April 1 at The Capitol Arts Center in Concord.

The scholar-athletes were nominated by Principal Noe and Athletic Director Lathrop based on the eligibility standards. Students must carry at least a B+ or equivalent grade-point average, and participate and letter in at least two varsity sports for at least two years.

The following seniors were recognized at a ceremony for their dedication and performance within their academics and athletics:

  • Micah Bessette – Cross Country, Outdoor Track
  • Mia Boyd – Field Hockey, Swimming & Diving, Softball
  • Eliza Buck – Field Hockey, Unified Volleyball
  • Erin Carty – Unified Soccer, Indoor Track, Outdoor Track
  • Emilia Cavicchi – Volleyball, Softball
  • Riley Drapeau – Unified Soccer, Basketball, Outdoor Track
  • Alja Forcey-Rodriguez – Unified Soccer, Unified Volleyball
  • Cayden Giordani – Ice Hockey, Outdoor Track
  • Joseph Hannon – Cross Country, Indoor Track, Outdoor Track
  • Maeve Hickok – Soccer, Basketball, Softball

Nadeau received a $500 NHADA Scholarship, which is awarded to one female and one male athlete from each of the four divisions. 

The ceremony was held on April 1 at The Capitol Arts Center in Concord.
