The ORCSD School Board invites highly qualified and future-focused candidates to apply for the position of Superintendent of Schools, with a start date of July 1, 2024.
The district has hired The New England School Development Council (NESDEC) to assist with the search. Applications are due on Oct 27, 2023.

Focus Groups: Save the Date!
The Superintendent Search Committee and NESDEC will provide two focus group opportunities (one virtual and one in person). Feedback will be used to create a candidate profile.
- September 27, 2023, 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.: virtual
Parents/Guardians/Community Members are invited to join a Zoom meeting. Zoom link and login information will be made available online 48 hours prior to the meeting.
- October 4, 2023, 7:00 -8:00 p.m.: in person
Parents/Guardians/Community Members are invited to join an in-person meeting at the Oyster River High School's Multi-Pupose Room (55 Coe Drive, Durham, NH 03824).

NESDEC will be facilitating focus groups during September.
The feedback from these meetings will be used to establish a profile of those characteristics and skills which will best match the specific needs of the district at the present time. If members of the community are unable to make a focus group discussion or have additional feedback they would like to provide, an online survey will also be available on the ORCSD website. The Superintendent Search Committee and NESDEC will provide two focus group opportunities. Time and location will be provided in the coming days.

Parents/Guardians/Community Members are invited to join an in-person meeting at the Oyster River High School's Multi-Pupose Room (55 Coe Drive, Durham, NH 03824).
- The School Board will appoint a Screening Committee comprised of individuals from different district stakeholder groups, including administrators, staff, parents, and community. These appointments will take place during October.
- The Screening Committee is charged with:

Reviewing all applications received for the position

Selecting the applicants for first interviews, which will occur in November

Recommending candidates for further consideration by the School Board
- The Screening Committee will use the Candidate Profile developed from the focus group & online survey data to develop interview questions & candidate assessment metrics.

- During the month of the December, the School Board will invite candidates to the district. During these visits, candidates will meet with different stakeholder groups throughout the day, be introduced to the community through a public forum, and meet with the School board for a final interview.
- The community will be invited to provide their thoughts on the candidate through an online survey that will be available for a short period after the candidate visits.
- The School Board anticipates announcing the new Superintendent at the board meeting on December 20, 2023.
